I ran a 5K and it didn't even count!

5K Update: I ran it! It just wasn't quite as "fun" as I had in mind. There was a giant inflatable at the end we had to run through, but the rest of the obstacles were apathetic teenagers holding limbo sticks or directing us to run through tires. My favorites were the ones holding encouraging signs that said things like "I believe in you!" when their body language told you they most certainly did not.

However, there were many good dogs, so I still think it was a success:

I think I need to wait until summer when the big fun things like the Color Run or the Bubble Run or the Glow Run come. It was good practice, though! And running/walking intervals with Colette made it fairly manageable! I did it!

We're almost done with season 8 of Adventure Time, I finally read Black Beauty (it's been on my shelf since I was 7), and I'm working on my cookbooks. I'm working through my Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy book, too - finished with the miniscules. We've added corn, beans, and rice back into our diet with only corn being questionable, so far. It's so nice to methodically check everything, even if it means I find out I shouldn't be eating things.

Keep doing things (I say to myself and to you)!

This Sara's Life

I've listened to like 3 episodes of This American Life - that's the biggest thing I've done, haha. But I only have 9 more to go to complete goal #98!

I feel like I'm reaching the end on a few? I hope I'm reaching the end on a few.

The food ones kind of had to take a break, as we still haven't introduced everything back into our diets. I just wanted to give it a little more time to see if I'd feel radically different still. Nothing yet. I think reintroduction will reveal more, but I'm hesitant to subject myself to it now.

I do have changes at work coming up, so I'll soon have much more time to work on things, hopefully!

I ran a mile!

And it wasn't as terrible as I remember running being! A mile's not quite a 5k, but I'm feeling more prepared and Colette said we can take it easy. :)

We also finished season 1 of My Hero Academia. Heck, Emily. Thanks for the recommendation!

I also made some more birthday cards:

They're both the same because they're both born on St. Patrick's Day. They don't know each other, so don't tell them I wasn't original!

We're still doing Whole30? I want to give it a good chance to make my health better if it's going to, so I've been really hesitant to put things back in. I did make some Whole30 friendly baba ghanoush (because it's always whole30 friendly) for my international recipe goal!

I read Richard III - just one more to finish the British histories and then just 23 more works to read, hahahhahah.

Oh man, I still have lots to do.

I wanted to do this because I love kid lit, and some of my very favorite books are Newbery award or honor books (Walk Two Moons, Princess Academy, Ella Enchanted, Catherine, Called Birdy, The View From Saturday, I could go on...). These books are just such quality. Of the 31 I read, there were only 3 I didn't super care for, which is a pretty good ratio, I think.

I tried to read the winner for each year unless I had read it already. I did do some re-reads, as I had already read all the books for some years (Long Way From Chicago, Maniac Magee), but I didn't even mind because they're so good!

I totally want to make a future goal to read through every single one of them, if I can. I'm imagining some of the oldest ones might be hard to find, but at least to read every one that I can. Kids books are just the best.
