Complete: 42. Find the best waffle recipe [replaced] + 92. Catch up on Adventure Time

2 more! We're at 47 items complete. Moving right along!

I replaced the waffle recipe item. I've been avoiding gluten for health reasons and while finding an ultimate recipe really appealed to me, I couldn't decide on something else to replace waffles. Maybe I should have replaced it with finding the best non-waffle item you could make in a waffle iron, but I happened to find myself in possession of ~70 lbs. of apples this week and took the opportunity to do something else I've always wanted to do: learn to can.

Many thanks to my friend, Jeska, who has all the gear and guided me in our canning adventure. We ended up with 18 quarts of applesauce! I feel much less intimidated by canning now, but I don't know if I'll be doing it solo anytime soon, hahaha. It's also much easier to do with two people.

Catching up on Adventure Time: The series officially ended this month, and we were able to watch the final season this weekend (Thanks, Parker!!). It was so bittersweet, but I loved seeing how far the characters have come over the series. Especially seeing Finn go from solving all problems by fighting to trying to talk things out in the end. And wrapping it all up with music was so perfect. Oh, this show. I feel like I should have more things to say about it, but just know that I've enjoyed the storytelling, the characters, and everything. It's really such a great show.

I hear it's going to continue in comic form, too, so I won't have to say goodbye forever. :)

Okay! Blog complete! Off to work on more things!

Complete: 27. Keep a doodle journal for 3 months + 68. Have people over for dinner 10+ times

2 this week, woooo! And I'm officially calling 57. Take a road trip to Michigan my head shaving replace-ee. I still want to do it, but there's just no way I can make it out there before winter hits. So officially 3 goals! Getting stuff done!

27. Doodle journal:
This coincided nicely with my line drawing class online, so a lot of that, but also lots of lettering and cute things.

I discovered zentangles and started making my own Pokemon and Studio Ghibli themed ones. :)

68. Dinners with people!
I changed this to 5+ and I'm calling it good, because it's basically impossible to have people over for dinner here. I even counted cooking at other people's a few times, so we're just gonna be okay with that. I got 8 dinners. I don't think I got pictures of too many of these. Oh well! It's done!

This week I've also cooked a lot of Good Eats food and made a calligraphy birthday card. I keep forgetting to take pictures before I send them off - oh well. I'm making more progress on my grown-up coloring book because I switched from colored pencils to crayons. I don't think colored pencils and I are friends. I also switched French Fryday blog posts to being just instagram posts because that's easier and I may not evaluate the fries, just enjoy and post them. Making life easier!

I'm also buckling down and learning my songs for #49-51. Here's the first one, one take, no editing, sharing with you to hold myself accountable because it's not good enough for anything else, hahaha.

45 things done now! Maybe I can meet 80 after all (or not - that's totally okay)!

Complete: 94. Make 10+ new panna cotta recipes

Another one bites the dust!

1. Melon Tea panna cotta
2. Cinnamon panna cotta
3. Pumpkin panna cotta
4. Nutella panna cotta
5. Blackberry/blueberry panna cottas (which were mostly failures, but I tried so many times I'm counting it, dang it)
6. Mugicha (barley tea) panna cotta
7. Rosewater panna cotta
8. Almond panna cotta with cherry sauce

I finished out my panna cottas with the fanciest ones I've ever attempted (and thus the most photogenic):

9. Star-shaped furni (rosewater, cardamom, and pistachio) pannna cotta

10. Cereal milk panna cotta with mashed avocado and crispy cornflake topping (from Momofuku Milk Bar)

Panna cotta is pretty much my favorite dessert ever. If you've never made it, I really recommend trying, because it's also one of the easiest desserts to make. I recommend this recipe. What a great use of cream and gelatin.
