A month of podcasts

For my February 30-day project I listened to a new podcast everyday. I got into the habit of listening to them while I work or while I'm driving - it's definitely a good use of time.

I've listened to a really eclectic mix, so I'm not sure if all my interests will translate to other people, but my favorites have been: Harry Potter and the Sacred Text, Year of Polygamy, Where Should We Begin?, The Bright Sessions, Reply All, Geek History Lesson, and Coverville. I've only listed to a few episodes of each one, but I like what I've heard so far. And still other series that I'm interested in exploring further. I have so many new podcasts to listen to.

Hopefully these podcasts will assist me as I train for my 5K (#56)! Colette convinced me to run the Playworks Race to Reduce Bullying at Wheeler Farm on March 24th. If anyone wants to join us, just let me know! There will be inflatables and obstacles and hot cocoa! I figure this counts as fun enough, though who knows - maybe I'll just want to run more. This health thing is pretty important.

Cards and Chops

I made some more cards!
Officially in love with The Postman's Knock and all her wonderful tutorials. Just gotta work on execution.

I also made the best pork chops. Heck. And my first kale salad ever???
We're so healthy!!

That's all I got for ya. Happy week!

It's Valentimes!

Happy Valentimes!

I just wanted to take today to say thanks and give my love to all of you (totally not because I don't have anything else to write about...). I'm grateful for encouragement and ideas and your comments here. You're all wonderful!

Big thanks to Hubster for endlessly supporting me in my silly goals. I'm not sure any regular old Hub would do Whole30 with their wives, or spend date night watching documentaries.

Speaking of Hubster, he said I made THE BEST Peruvian chicken and aji de gallina. I'm just glad I found an international recipe I could make on Whole30:

So thanks for reading and supporting! I'm grateful for craft nights and eating out and adventures. This Valentimes, I celebrate you!

Making cards and eating healths

I made a cute card with the help of a friend in our ward (still need to calligraph it):
It will be for my niece when her birthday rolls around (lots of boring grown-ups before then).

You can see the aftermath of meal planning behind it. I don't think I'll get too much done this month with all the time I'm spending on food, hahaha. But Whole30 is going well, I think? Fast food french fries aren't allowed, but I can make baked homemade fries! So things got better when that happened. The food is mostly really delicious, it's just so much work. But one week down! My new friend is Michele Tam of nomnompaleo.com. Paleo is really similar to Whole30 eating, but they allow natural sweeteners - not too big of an adjustment, though, and her recipes are delish.

I did finish reading Henry VI, Part 2. And I watched The Boss Baby. Bleeeeeeehhhhhh. I can't believe it was nominated. I'm so mad at the Academy. Lego Batman was robbed. I'm also listening to a new podcast everyday for my 30 day project this month. Super great so far! We'll also be starting International Cinema date nights back up with a double feature this coming weekend.

Okay, did I say I wouldn't get much stuff done this month? I lied. I'm always busy. :)
